Coal Miner Days

Second week in June

The Sparwood Fire Department has planned some exciting Coal Miner Days events this year. Here are the updated events:

  • Fire Truck Rides: Attendees can hop aboard a fire truck and experience a thrilling ride around the area. This is a fantastic opportunity for kids and adults to see the inside of a fire truck and get a firsthand experience of what riding in one is like.
  • "Light Up the Sky" Drone Show: Considering the fire hazards and smoke in the valley, the traditional fireworks display has been replaced with an innovative and mesmerizing drone show called "Light Up the Sky." This brand-new addition to the valley will showcase a choreographed production of drones, creating a beautiful and captivating spectacle in the night sky. It promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees.

This brand-new event aims to provide entertainment and enjoyment while ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. By adapting to the current circumstances and embracing innovative alternatives, the Sparwood Fire Department continues to prioritize the safety of the residents and visitors during Coal Miner Days. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for further updates and information regarding these events and the Sparwood Fire Department's involvement in Coal Miner Days.
